Repair ship is needed only when you want to give the full focus of an AR to a specific ship, useful mostly for ARDs, when you might want that ship XX gets all the float repair capability

I would had focused on Oi first, as Yamashiro is really out of the war until sometime in mid to late 43 regardless
Oi will repair in a few days at Hong Kong....

Once I get Yamashiro back to Honshu...she will repair much faster than that I think...

Would reparing at the main shipyards in Honshu, I don't have the game on hand, but assuming Kure is the biggest shipyard there... would it be significantly faster than a slightly smaller shipyard, but still big shipyard like Hong Kong?

Lok and Alfred are the experts here, but it really depends. Do you play the repair game? Or do you just dump every ship into the shipyard and wait?

Using naval support squads, ARs, and lots of little micromanagement tricks you can really supercharge the repair rate on ships.

Search Alfred's posts for his repair ship opus...or search Lok's posts on it....

Lok, do you ever get tired of being correct?[;)]

Frequently. It's quite frustrating, actually.

Anybody have a line on Obvert? He hasn't posted since 5/20 and hasn't responded to a PM sent on 5/23. Lowpe-do you have any further indication of prolonged absence?

He has said it is the busy time of the year at work for him, and I was going to let the turn sit with him till tonight my time, say another 8 hours before questioning him.

I see I flipped a turn and forgot to post an update. Allies have the turn now...last turn saw 4E beasts strike Palembang doing little damage.

Another couple of bases fell in Mindanao...including the Z base that cranks out a minimal amount of supply. Got that undamaged.

Should take Prome, Tarakan this turn plus an invasion west of Ambon all coming up....lots of ships and troops moving.

Singers is now showing the Prince of Wales and 21 other ships...I suspect we are in for another round of ship battles.

It is taking me about 2 days to flip a turn now, since Jocke's game has priority, and both games are utterly fascinating. However, I hope to flip at least one turn today and tomorrow since Jocke is gone till Monday.

I flipped the turn and didn't take any pictures...sorry. The most boring turn of the war so far. Japan splashed some more PBYs and a few other Dutch planes. Kirishima bounced a 500 pounder.

The base next to Ambon is invaded, will take care of Ambon in two days.

Shem whatever next to Attu is taken.

Djamabi...big oil base taken north of Palembang.

Prome in Burma taken...

IJN fleets massing around Singers for a big showdown. I am going to do something that might be very reckless tomorrow or the next day...just getting ships and ake's into position.

KB making for Miri and fuel and hopefully fresh planes.

Beasties raided Palembang, but Zeroes are there strong enough to beat them off with no hits. Might have destroyed one or two.

Three relatively quiet days and tomorrow will not be...as the IJN will bombard Singers which is quite the Festung!

Here is hoping we don't run into too many mines, I am not too worried about the CD guns as the this will be a max range bombardment.

I believe my early conquest of Palembang stopped early supplies from getting into Singers, and you can see the lack of a Mersing Invasion has allowed the ABDA to concentrate a lot of forces here in Singers.

More fireworks coming up!

Any chance for a peek at the TF going to Singapore? Double and triple check the Escorts Bombarding. It will be interesting to see how this works. Most of us live in fear of the Singapore CD guns for very good reason.

I have to break them all down and rebuild the task forces...which I haven't done yet.

But you will see it all happen...

Lowpe-san, you have piqued the interest of many-a-virtual-samurai already. Here's a toast of freshly brewed rice ale, topped with vintage sake '28. in hopes of great success for your bushido fueled Emperor's warriors!
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage.

This was the plan all along...with this map, and letting the Allies escape everything into Singers.

I am hoping there will be a three day delay for a lot of the ships to come out of shipyard/pierside mode so that I can really bombard Singers and cause a lot of hurt.

Of course, it could all backfire, especially if the Allies dropped a 1000 mines there. The one bombardment I have seen of Singers (done by GreyJoy as the Allies) was a complete and utter failure prompting him to concede defeat.[X(]
