Wanted: Die-hard Japanese for GC

Post by MaxFusion »

Looking for a die-hard Japanese player for a stock GC scenario 1 or 2. All Realism Options are "On" except Reliable USN Torpedoes and No Unit Withdrawals. Historical First Turn and all other options are the choice of the Japanese player. Japanese player may also determine the House Rules, if any.

MaxFusion,

You've been on the forum (like I have) for 15 years and only have 20 posts? Are you not the loquacious type? [;)]

Where have all the die-hards gone?

Would love to take on a PBEM, but I've yet to prove all my plans for the Japanese economy as yet. Have only played out to end of '42 as yet, and from what I've read I should go further to be sure. Would hate to start a game and have my economy 'flop' that far into the game and have to resign as a result. Wouldn't be fair to anyone.

If its still rolling near the end of '42 you'll be okay getting into '43. You'll get plenty of good advice if you
keep track and note potential snags. Give it a shot.

I guess that 1943 and beyond are uncharted territory for many. There is no contract just a good faith agreement, and the position is still open.

I hear ya, but I still gotta know if I can get through. It would be highly frustrating to me to invest that much time and effort to find I could not continue. Besides there's one other out there that I'd have to give first shot to if he were still interested. I will keep you in mind when the time comes and if you have the time we could start then. Don't hold your breath though as I'm looking at about a year. I know, I know, but I just can't do it any other way. Its just me.[:)]

My problem is that I don't take the conventional advise. Things I do for one reason or the other would spin heads on these pages. If I'm wrong there's no return, but I have to find out. If 'my way' doesn't work then I'll get more conventional, but until then...

BTW, I'm not talking weird types of invasions or off the wall things. Just items I'd like to try. Especially things that make the 'wall' of my empire less porous.

No, and I don't expect to win. The worst that'll happen is that I'll run out of supply, or oil, or HI mid '43 and have to quit because I screwed up. I'd like to take my games to conclusion, even if it is forgone from the beginning. Besides I will have my fun at the start, AFB's need to have theirs as well. Believe me in my current AI game I'm having my struggles and doubts as to if I've not ruined the Japanese economy one more time. Just as I think its OK, I see something else dragging things down. May have to go back to my last games' strategy, which seemed to be working. That is if I can remember most of what I did or didn't do.[:D]

Biggest thing I can tell is the advice from Major Mike: go slow with the economy. don't build factories more than 1 pt per day. Watch supply like a hawk. You can always wait a day or two for the next factory build point. .... if you watch supply, play good tactics, have a sound strategy can keep to it ... things should go well....
