but from my observations
1- a majority of players don't like to play small nations
2- developpers look like prefer war in the east
3- add small nations is more expensive than make great scenarios

Point #3 is the most important observation.

And yes, I would like playing a la Witmann (a perfect name for an Alsatian, like General Koenig [:D]) with a Char B1 bis.

I think the key is to improve the AI as we cannot do PBEM. More content is not needed from the developer's as Rico et al. have created so many scenarios. Which is great.

But there are many problems with the AI such as not firing enough even in defensive fire segment, AI walking out of cover into clear hexes to get blown away, etc. UP844 did a great analysis of the firing problem.
