Strategic Command v1.05 update available

Post by Benedict151 »

Hello Everyone
An updated patch is now available for Strategic Command (v1.05) and this should address 3 bugs that some of you have been experiencing (including the 'on_left_button_down' errors)

v1.05 is compatible with save games from v1.04
v1.05 is a comprehensive update (so you don't need to have previously installed v1.04 etc.)

It is available from the members area :
https://www.matrixgames.com/members/pri ... sp?gid=504

And shortly from the public area :
http://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/Strategi ... -v1.05.zip

Or you can obtain it by clicking on 'check for update' when starting the game

Strategic Command v1.05 Change List
- fixed several 'on_left_button_down' errors.
- fixed a 'draw_operational_management_panel_to_buffer' error.
- fixed a multi-language PBEM++ error that did not allow players to re-continue games started in another language in v1.03 that was a mismatch from their current UI language setting.

When will the PBMM server be updated? I updated my copy of the game to 1.05 via the link in the Members area, but afterwards, when I tried to access PBEM, I got an error message saying I needed version 1.04.

The PBEM++ server happened to crash at the same time as the update release. Should be back online shortly.

Hi all,

Should be available from the members area, however if that isn't working for you please try the Public URL which I have amended in the above post.

PBEM should be up again soon.

The amphibious move bug, if it is the same bug, has recently been corrected but will not be available until the next update which will hopefully be soon.

Just installed 1.05 and am getting error messages. I was on 1.03.

The code execution cannot proceed because SDL_gfx.dll was not found.

The code execution cannot proceed because SDL_ttf.dll was not found.

The code execution cannot proceed because SDL.dll was not found.

The code execution cannot proceed because SDL_image.dll was not found.

They all mentioned that reinstalling might fix the issue. After reinstall I got the same messages.

Thanks

Update: I got it to work but it says I am on version 1.03.01 and when I check for updates it says I am up to date.

Update 2: uninstalled everything and reinstalled. Problem solved.

I have updated. Now if I right click on a unit no box opens. Anyone else got this, or is it just me?

Did you check the proper option in the "Advanced" section before to start the game?

There is a toggle in the interface that was not previously functional but now is with the new UI updates. Likely you experimented with this toggle in the past but back then it did nothing, and if it was set to off, now that the game is using this toggle the right button mouse option is no longer working.

If you go back to the OPTIONS->ADVANCED screen you'll see the toggle there and can re-enable it.

It should do the trick for you :)

I wanted to piggyback on another similar post, but I couldn't find where it is, so many posts, lol.

Love the Upgrade and Reinforce buttons, especially when making mass U's or R's. I keep the U's Green because I always want to know when an upgrade is available, but I keep the R's non-green, as I can clearly see if a unit is at 10 or less. If I hit the U then hit the R, then right click to end that mode, all units return to as they where before [green-wise]. But if I hit R then U, all units that are eligible for reinforcement remain green . [:)]

I currently have the game upgraded to v1.04 and am able to continue a v1.03.04.03 Beta PBEM++ game by launching the game with the v1.03.04.03 Beta EXE file copied to the game folder.

Will I still be able to do this if I upgrade the game to v1.05?

Thanks and this has been fixed on my end, not in time for the next update, but will be in place for the one after that.

Yes, so long as your BETA EXE is the one that is uniquely named as upgrading to v1.05 will overwrite your v1.04 EXE.
