Switched over a factory to make the Tabby, 19 planes per month...I have two squadrons arriving in 71 days.

Ki61c and J2M2 factories are repairing now to size 30, they will eventually be moved down the production lines allowing me to allocate the r&d facilities in each line the option of researching a late war plane.

Why is it that Japanese Artillery is so inferior to Allied artillery. Heck, I have two almost full 75mm gun batteries here.

The answer of course is you are firing 75mm and the allies are firing 150mm back with greater range ... historically this was the case, the IJ got spanked pretty badly in any form of arty dual.

Allies finally attack Magwe...unfortunately I had 30 Franks sweeping, and of course he eats thru the defense, but we claim our pound of flesh. Bombers damage the runway to 87%...Allies really should have done this while the railroad was closed.

Our fighters do well, considering 100 of the planes are Tony 61-a.

His bombers do very well, but that is to be expected as his pilot skill is quite high I imagine.

I believe I will assign to fresh Frank Sentai to LRCAP Magwe...as long as I don't lose three to 1 or more. I might since I will have them at 30K and most likely will face Jugs and Corsairs...but you never know.

Franks fly LRCAP over Magwe and do well versus P40, but peter out eventually. Allied 4E bombers hit the runway again, up to 80 percent damage or so.

Zeroes flying LRCAP over the two isolated Allied divisions get a rare good day of intercepting Allied transports.

Kodiak...

I have a fair bit of air transport available, and I wonder if I should concentrate on flying in some supplies or evacuating some of the troops or a combination?

Only the 65th is really combat effective...

Right now I am leaning to air evacuation of the two smaller units (Ichiki has good experience levels) and flying in some supplies from supply rich Alaska with bombers. I am routing a few subs to run supplies in and out to help.

These troops have held out for quite a while, allowing for some decent naval strikes from my pitiful naval presence in the area.

Dateline Rabaul....clash!

The Allies make a bold two pronged move on Umboi and Rabaul....the action starts early at Rabaul with destroyers hunting midget subs in the pre dawn darkness, and occasional minesweepers are hit by IJN land based guns...

However the real action starts during the day...

Not my ideal SAG, that is for Japan, but our gunnery wasn't great today and Allied Armor very good at deflecting those 20cm shells.
