Will I lose my game

My opponent switched to 1.05 and was able to send me a turn. I still have 1.03.04 beta. Is it safe for me to switch too?

The issue here is that v1.05 points to a different server than v1.03.04 Beta. In order to continue playing your Beta PBEM++ games I would advise that you both upgrade to v1.05 and then download the v1.03.04 BETA EXE from the link below and place it in your installation folder.

Then if you want to continue your previous PBEM++ games that used the BETA server, simply launch the BETA exe.
