The war is on hold. Vincent Van Gorn has moved to a small Pacific Island and has taken-up painting landscapes on native women.

Question: I have this folder called "fakepath" for some ridiculous reason I never really understood where I keep all these gems. Am I soon going to have to have a folder named "fakenews"? Don't answer that, no politics in the forum.

I think the way to handle this is to make a copy of the whole WitP-AE folder and rename it "spence", empty the savegame folder of the .pws files, make a desktop shortcut that starts in Matrixgames/spence/. Is that the right way to do it?
I have 4 turns to report on AW1Steve's game, so I'm off.

I'm resurrecting this thread since Steve apparently quit his AAR. Maybe he'll come in from the cold and comment here.

WHY? The fact that I haven't had anything to say seems to trouble you. I just assumed you'd rather I put my time into dealing with your turns, rather than talking about them.

RE: The Gorn Supremacy; stock AW1Steve v. geofflambert
So, I was working on a turn this a.m. when my cell phone chortled. I went and retrieved that cell phone and there was a message on it saying that someone knew my password for my email account.?! I went online and discovered it was Google that sent me the warning. My Google account doesn't amount to much, my browser is Google Chrome and I use Google Earth once in a while but besides that just about nothing. Yet, it was Google warning me that someone was trying to log onto my AOL email account and they said they'd stopped it. It was suggested that I change my Google password, which I did. How Google knew someone was trying to access my AOL email account is beyond me. Anyway, the password I was using is the same password I use for my PBEM against Steve. Do you think it is possible that Steve has my password? Is it possible that besides emptying my bank account that he knows everything I'm doing in this game? What am I to do?

I know some of you are going to suggest that I apply prophylactic security measures to my various orifices to keep Steve from penetrating my defense screen. Keep that to yourself, I don't need that right now.

Now, my warning states that the attempt originated in Virginia. Steve is not currently located in Virginia but he has a history of moving about from one AFB to another, and is currently based at Scott AFB. I'm just saying he may have compatriouts in Virginia operating against my interests.
