Im having the exact same issue. Everytime I move german 1st army to the hex directly south west of brest litovsk I get the same crash error.

if I move the same unit 1 hex first and then to the brest hex is doesn't crash.

I have the autosave and dxdiag ready to send as it seems only 1 file can be attached to this post.

I think you can "solve" it by pressing "next turn" on your first turn, without moving anything. I managed to play a full turn now after doing that.

Apologies for the error and for anyone else please experiencing this please download and apply the hotfix found here in the following Dropbox link:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rws9ibv5u2al ... iL0ea?dl=0

You'll just have to grab it from the download link and copy/paste it into your installation folder for your game replacing the existing game EXE.

Typically for a Matrix game installation it would be in this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe

Thanks again for your patience,
Hubert

Also, if I try to run the new .exe from the folder (not shortcut on desktop) I can't start the game, I get this error:

Ditto. Having to reload the game continuously. Frustrating. [:@]

Hi Mrslobodan,

I would suggest running it from the installation folder (for now) as that will guarantee that it is launching the latest hotfix which is now v1.06.02. I've updated the link above to a new hotfix which corrects one more issue, and if it shows v1.06.02 in the bottom right hand corner of the MAIN SCREEN you'll then know it is running the correct version.

If it is not launching from the installation folder properly I would suggest running it as an Administrator by right clicking on the EXE and selecting 'Run as Administrator'

Let me know if this helps,
Hubert

I also just got the same crash and error as the OP. If I install any of the hotfixes will they be compatible with the PBEM++ server?

Edit - I ran my turn a second time and did not get the error.

I just started the 1939 campaign once more and played through 3 turns without any kind of an error appearing.

So far, the issues seems to be fixed for me in 1.06.02.

Thank you, Mr. Cater.

Yes it is fully compatible with any v1.06 PBEM++ game.

Thanks Hubert. Since I've only ever had one crash I'll keep playing without the hotfix for now.

Yeah after downloading the latest update on steam this looks to have fixed it as I tried the autosave again and the crash didn't happen.
