Welcome doodle. [8D]

As this is your first post and first login date, you should be aware that your post here may not net as many opponents as you might expect. While the forum (and this subforum) are both very active, the multi-year (in real life) commitment a PBEM requires does necessitate a certain scrutiny and selectivity among erstwhile opponents. Newcomers are certainly always welcome, but many veteran players already have their 'dance cards' full, with many having alternates in the wings. Forum activity and longevity are frequently used to 'screen' potential opponents and gauge their commitment to the game and the forum.

So, stick around a while. Follow some of the other very good AARs that are out there. Check out some of the helpful tools (including video tutorials) that have been produced over the years. And don't be a stranger. You can learn a *lot* about the game by spending time on the forum. I learn something new here every day, and I've been following this franchise (UV/WiTP/WiTP:AE) for 16 years.

In my opinion, playing some of the short scenarios against the AI (e.g., Coral Sea, Guadalcanal) and then a full campaign against the AI are mandatory ingredients for a successful PBEM start. I'd recommend you cut your teeth on those before taking the plunge against another human.

Best wishes and hope to see you around!

I have to agree with CB. A campaign game takes a painfull amount of time to set up, and then can go for years. That is a major commitment [;)]

Read the AARs, that will teach you far faster than your own game because of the diversity of playing styles present.
Start with AAR for newbies tm.asp?m=2564541
It is against AI, but the line of reason for Allied player is described in view of PBEM considerations
