Combat Issues with Decisive Campaign Barbarossa

I really need help. I have down loaded this game through Steam and do have a physical hard copy CD. The issue is with combat. When I select a unit to attack and press the A key, the hex is highlighted and the unit that is being attacked then populates the defending unit box. The issue is when I select an attacking unit, I select the unit, hit the space bar and nothing happens. No units appear below the defender units, When I click on the "All" button on the top right I get the message not available, The "List" button does nothing and when I press the attack button, the message is that I cannot initiate an attack. I have tried this sim on two different computers Win 7, and same result. If it were not for the fact that I also have Decisive Campaign Case Blue which has the same combat platform and it works without flaw on either computer.

Gentlemen, how can I fix this problem. All patches have been downloaded and installed.
