My roster log indicates the following

ThomasBELL123 has 0/3 so that eliminates him from the game.

BORO has 1/3 status and which makes him part of Good luck group where one will be picked to proceed to Round 4.

The following ppl are waiting for Round 4 game

sztartur:2/3
Brutto-Bob:2/3
Ironfist:2/3

given that sztartur and Brutto-Bob became eligible earlier than Ironfist, they can play each other in Round 4 game so it is

sztartur
vs
Brutto-Bob

From what I see M4 Jess is out also which leaves only two people with record of 1/2:Gary Tatro and Stonefire.

Once I know their status, I'll randomly draw one of 1/3 ppl to proceed to Round 4 game which will probably be against Ironfist.

Excuse Me

Post by Rick Borovec »

Red,
Your records are incorrect. My win/loss record is 2 and 1. I beat Birdgunner in the 1st Round, Rob W in the 2nd, lost to Lars Scharfschutze in the 3rd. I believe that qualifies to move into the 4th round.

Tried to set up a 4th round opponent before you went on holiday, and In your absence Brutto-Bob and I started a game that we considered a round 4 game. If this doesn't meet with your approval, thats fine, we'll just play it for fun. We are in turn 4. If you look back a page or two you'll see where we asked for your permission.

Please advise, thanks!:) :)

Win or lose this next match I think I may withdraw from the tournement, its too difficult to negotiate, and when you don't go over every little detail at length then you open your self up, for anything.

Lust to clarify a point I thought in general that you couldn't call reinforcements until turn 10 in a 20 turn game ?

Is that correct or am I smoking crack !!!!!!!!!!

First, let me assure you that I was totally unaware of any mentioning of this! :(

I leafed through the earlier posts of this thread and happened upon a post by Gary Tatro on top of page 17, where he states:
7) REQUESTING REINFORCEMENTS ON TURN 1: This is where your opponent requests reinforcemtents on turn 1 then refuses engagment until his AUX units get to the front then overwelms you with superior numerical forces.

.......Ways to avoid this, suggest a designated time before reiforcements can be requested. My rule of thumb ussually is not to request reinforcements until I need them, but to lay a ground rule I have started asking for no reinforcements until turn 10.

while RED states on p. 18 that "calling reinforcements isn´t against the rules" (okay, niothing definite here
and elaborates rules of engagement on p.19
Standard Setup
--------------
* C&C OFF
* True Rarity ON
* 10% artillery includes all units capable of indirect fire.
* No pre-laid Mines
* Meeting engagement
* 1 Platoon infiltrators Max (4 squads) no minimum.
* 2 airstrikes Max. (4 planes) No mIn.
* game points 4000-7000

Note: Both players can agree on different terms if they want.

I might add that i have used AUX and have seen used AUX against me before Turn 10 in my previous games.

Gregory, I hope this isn´t too inconvenient for you. Those T-34s arrived just in time to save the day... if they aren´t dead yet, haven´t seen the last turn yet.

Let's what Supreme Court has to say about it

Post by red »

Until SC rules ...
Reinforcements are a little tricky. Calling them in on first turn isn't fair but then again it goes to the quality of the player and a particular situation, if one uses reinfrocements when faced with certain defeat that's reasonable to use but when they are used as plan of general tactics against your opponent, that isn't reasonable. Again depends on the situation.

Well I move on to round Four

Post by Gary Tatro »

Jesper and I just finished our round 3 game.
I was Russian
Jesper was Aznac.
It was a tough game. Bad movement yet high visibility and Per turn VH.
I was able to grab the Per turn VH and hold on to them the whole game. This is what led to my high score.
Me Russian 22,515 Marginal victory.
Jesper Aznac 8,833 Marginal Defeat.
I think the game would have been a draw if the VH had not been per turn.
Good game Jesper.

So who am I playing in Round 4. I will be playing the US this time I believe.

Gary
A good fight it was.
And spite my lucky dispose of your ammo dump in the start, you rallied you artillery very well. Made it impossible for my infantry to reach the V-hexes, the smoke made my long range 17 pdr useless (I wish the ANZAC had Fireflies in '43), and all your AAA and 57 mm ATG kept any light armoured vehicles away.

I simply hadn't made the right pick of forces for the job at hand - but you certainly had.

Good Luck to you -

I'm 1/3 now and out of the WC for now.

Shiner loses and is out of WC03

Post by Shiner »

Well, the fight between Sandman and Shiner has come to an end. Final score being Sandman(US) 9526 to Shiner(Germany) 5928.

It was a very tough fight. Sandman had 6 3in AT guns, 155 and 75 off-board Arty. I managed to knock-out 3 of his AT guns but the other three were tough because they were moved every now and then. so it was hard to get a bead on them. They would just set up behind the American lines and pop anything that came within their line of fire.

I thought we had all agreed to keeping big AT guns to a limit of no more than a platoon and that there was to be no off-board arty. Maybe I was wrong.

Anyway, goodluck Sandman. Just keep those 6 AT guns safe and I assure you that you will win WC03.

Red, Thank you for setting the WC up for us all. I am already looking forward to WC04.

Regards,

Shiner

Good game it was Shiner, thanks for a tough fight.
I really needed those all AT-guns, because I knew you will have Panthers and they can see through the smoke and flames in SPWAW 7.1.
Without AT-guns, it should be an easy victory to you I think and tough fight it was still.;)

As far as I know, there was no any limits at amount of AT guns and OFF board arty is allowed also.

So from what I can tell sandman advances to round 5, Gary Tatro advances to round 4.

Also as I stated before one of the 1/3 group would advance to round 4 after being randomly chosen and that player is .... (drum roll)

Belisarius

So it's

Gary Tatro
vs
Belisarius
