Unbeknown to us, Allies have detected our invasion fleet and decided to intervene with all its naval assets in the area. Luckily we’ve placed several layers of screens in all possible approaches to Palembang so Allies bumped into them, one by one:

Next in line is CA Takao TF:

Image

Japanese Ships
CA Takao, Shell hits 53, heavy fires, heavy damage
CL Jintsu

Unfortunately CA Takao did not live to fight another day, but it did perform it’s duty: enemy fleet was stopped just short of its objective, the invasion fleet.

Takao will be missed, but enemy naval assets are dangerously thin in Western part of the map after today. 1942 will be walk in the park for us.

I'm afraid so. Those tankers were sent on short trip from Takao to Hong Kong and it was my mistake not to send them on flank speed. Also no sub presence was notced by nav search on this area so I guessed it was safe. I guess I was wrong...

Maximum visibility in Partly Cloudy Conditions and 100% moonlight: 11,000 yards
