South:

Apart from us losing carriers we also lost an APD and a PB to Allied PT-boats. I then send in 4 DDs to provide cover for another 2 PB fast transport. One of the PBs unloaded and was disbanded. The other was sunk after the 4 DDs had to deal with the PTs and this fleet: So an APD and 2 PBs sunk for no Allied loss. However in this battle with the 4 DDs 2 small Allied ships collided. Also 2 more collided whilesinking the single left over PB [:D]
This fleet than bombarded Tassa while another smaller one bombarded Lunga. Both were both hit before, the 1st Tssa bombardement by mostly DDs caused quite a bit of damage. Combined with the 2nd one by cruisers my fighter units suffered not only destroyed planes (limited) and more damaged, but their morale dropped badly. Esp. the best fighters (Tojo 1a) was hit morale drop. These are good pilots, but they broke off combat now sometimes.

3 more raids one with almost 100 escort fighters, all air units at Tassa are out of action and ca. 40 losses in the air and ground (more ground, relativly few pilot losses), the Tojo unit has 20 morale or so now. The fields and service are damaged 80% [X(]

North = Aleutians, Hokaido, Kuriles... areas:

Not much, old story our 2-3 subs there find nothing. But Allied subs also had no success (better air asw now)

Other sub & small ship action:

Not much, we found an US sub near Miri with a 2 ship asw force but only 1 lousy hit. Allied SS was hit near Soerabaya by air asw (damage unknown). Several SS were also hit in the south near Rabaul, Shortlands by all types of planes, while our ships asw did nothing [:@] But we saved most if not all our damaged subs to Rabaul, some already leaving for Truk. 2 more damaged subs at other places (not revealed for op sec), but I know US 4E bombers can sink them all if they want in port. One sub had 80 float damaged but limped back, lets hope this port is not hit in the near future...

Economy, production, research, politics:

Looks still good, but it seems we need to increase fighter production....remember we conquered a lot of industry and raw materials in China and India, which historically was not there. Both Judy and Jill have some facs repaired and are researching, but without engine bonus. Tojo c (with armor) is now at 3/43, but we forgot to research the "b" so no direct upgrade path from the "a" to "c" [8|]

BTW, is it possible an admiral died in the battle above with the 4 DDs? I assigned an admiral to those 4 and named the fleet "ADM!" as a warning for me not to disband it and lose the admiral. But after the 2 battles I checked and the admiral is gone (TF CEO now one from the DDs)[&:]

This game ended the Allied player had no time (and perhaps did not like losses) - this pretty much sucks, cause a lot of time spent in managing research, production etc

- One of our CLs sunk by PTs at Tassa
- We take Ranchi and Kungming, Chunkging I would give another week
- We hold at Darwin still
- We shoot down lots of fighters over Guadalcanal (but only 2-3 4E were shown as ops losses, in 42 IJ planes too weak)
- We sunk CV Wasp and an CVE as well damage another (brit?) CV, we suffer one bomb hit at a BB which knocked an AA gun out [:(] This time allies were caught by surprise and even if I made a terrible mistake (Kates used bombs at big alt, so hit not much) it seems sunk most of Allied CV power. I believe only 1 Brit and 1 US may be left.

Perhaps I will continue with Silver scen vs. the new AI now provided (thanks to the devs)

(not posted with CRs: we bombard Ambon, which was isolated and we landed later, we lost 2 cargo ships, the base was NOT out of supply like expected, also the Allies bombard our outpost Funafuti with fast DD TFs and establish own base on island just north to my outpost, north is totally quiet not even sub action, we have only 2 subs there, also 2 of our support units are destroyed in clear terrain in India by air as well we lost 2 more which were destroyed by 2 tank units in my backyard, later it shows that the Allies had WISELY withdrawn from the area, as I was preparing to cut them off from supply)

BUMP, see post 63 and the reserved ones, I will post some more important or remarkable combat reports there until catch up with current game date (which is I believe 10.Oct 42)

No big changes except China fell. We still sit in India and at Darwin and some smaller coast outposts in north OZ. We still defend at Guadalcanal, we lost 2 cruisers and many (previously damaged) DDs mostly to PTs and subs (damn old S class seem to hit hard all the time and our ASW still sucks [>:])

ALLIED PLAYER WANTED SWEEP rule deleted, so now every height is allowed..and it shows already, we lost some good pilots to sweep. the worst loss were 2 ACES still flying M2 Zeros, now I pulled the best ones out of these old planes also some Oscar pilots send to reserve, Tracom to save them for better planes)

PT boats are a PITA right ? Possibly they get some bonus in shallow and small straits etc. like Guadalcanal. The Allies have Kirakira where all the small craft can range freely in these waters. I tried to intercept their cargo traffic near Kira and Ndeni, but too many subs were detected and hit by asw forces. In fact the Allies can deny an area to the IJN while the IJ can not (Allied subs now pretty near to our ports but rarely are hit anymore, I suspect the overpowered SD radar update may have something to do with this - as well the Allied player told me he exchanged a lot of commanders)

Perhaps you can post later a victory screen(shot) from your game for comparison, which scen are you playing?

Btw, I just noted this here: (posted also in main forum), there were no Allies near my ports that could have caused this resource and light industry damage....[&:]

- We decided to do something again about the Allied landings at Lunga, as well try to cut off - and/or fight the Allied troops in and near Cuttack. This is ofc why we try to take out some planes and damage airfield there. Problem is weather and strong AA. We send a handpicked SF fleet with good admiral and use night search to get to Allied Amphibs at Lunga. But he has several fleets there protecting them, one of these is seriously hard hit and 2 cruisers confirmed as sunk (even if the Allies "crossed the T"!):
