I have a gameplay question.

I think I understand how time works in TOAWIII, with movement and attacks in phases. However, I'm a bit unclear on a couple of things.

1) If I have units on the front line, and I plan an attack with those units with NO movement, it should show in the attack planner as one or two phases for the attack.
2) The question involves time. I've found it difficult to know exactly what attacks I've setup with the planner, without resolving them immediately after I set them up?
3) What happens to time if I resolve that one attack and don't attack across the line with my other units during that phase?
4) For example, I just resolve that one attack, do I lose that phase for my other N number of units? Do I need to setup all my attacks and then resolve them to occur in the same phase?
I've found that it's difficult to know exactly what attacks are setup? Is there a way to see this better?

One more thing, I'm not clear on the red X on the support units in the planner? When I left click them, the X is removed and it appears the unit is supporting the attack? However, I've also noted that when I left click on a unit that has NO Red X in it, it doesn't really show anything? is that unit directly supporting the attack? If there are NO red X's, are those unit supporting indirectly in the attack?
