When I was stationed at Torii Station on Okinawa in the early-mid 80's, we watched the SR-71 (called Habu on Okinawa) take off and land at
Kadena Airbase all the time. The time of the take-offs was supposed to be classified but the bleachers on the roads outside
Kadena were always full of Japanese tourists taking pics of the plane. On occasion, like when the Vietnamese & Chinese
were bickering over Cambodian guerrillas operating from refuge camps in Thailand in '85 (Vietnam supporting Khmer Rouge,
China supporting guerillas loyal to Norodim Sihanouk), there were several "silver" CIA SR-71's deployed to Kadena
for a few weeks.

Wow. Stunning photos of the most beautiful plane in the world - in my opinion ofc. Do you think there are something prettier than that plane?

The former was the name of the XB-70 supersonic bomber.
