I think the 2nd part is what you mentioned earlier - you need to do your turn so that it has data to load.

OK, I have a new turn and save. The old errors are gone but I have a new one in relation to Tracker:

Either download the WitPTracker.bat file again from my earlier post, or use a text editor (like Notepad) to add Java.exe after the jre1.8.0_144\bin\.

You can also optionally increase the -Xms and -Xmx tags from 384m and 512m to 512m and 768m, if you want to give Tracker more memory to work with.

So the contents of WitPTracker would be:

OK, I got frustrated and found a copy of the Tracker folder that I made before the crash. I've got an error but it appears to be not enough memory. What file do I open to enlarge that and what do I open it with? Wordpad? Notepad?

You can use Notepad, it will work perfectly fine. I use a 3rd party variant of the concept (Notepad on steroids): Notepad++.

The file you want to edit is WitPTracker.bat located in the Tracker folder. If you delete everything in it and paste into it what I posted in the code snippet of my last post, it will give you extra memory.

Success, I believe. It's doing a multiturn read. It already had turns 1 and 2 - that's the point I backed up the folder.

I'm back to the 32/64 bit problem, but it only occurs after Tracker loads and when I start the multi-turn read.

I put the Java.exe in the folder and got this error.

You're using an older WitPTracker.bat file - the latest one I uploaded here doesn't load the Java.exe file from the Tracker folder, it gets it straight from the 32-bit Java install folder.

So you either need to use that .bat file OR make sure you are copying the 32-bit Java.exe (from the Java folder within Program Files(x86), NOT Program Files) into the Tracker folder.

I'll have to figure that out. I noticed my x86 folder doesn't even have a Java folder in it, just the Program Files folder.

Install the 32-bit Java via the link I provided in this post. Then copy that Java.exe into your Tracker folder.

OK. I'm running out of time but I just installed the 64 bit in the x86/Java folder I created. Oh, well. [:D]

Yeah, taking a chicken and putting 'Swan' on its name-tag doesn't quite work [:D]

To be sure, just (re)install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Java using the links I provided, then copy the Java.exe from the Program Files(x86) Java folder.

Just as info, you can read the tracker database with the 64 bit Java, but you can not read a new turn file with it( the pwsdll7.dll file is a 32-bit dll file)

I never experimented with different Tracker / Java versions - I saw that the instructions were very specific and have experienced how one variable being off can bring the whole parade to a stop, so I've contented myself to keep things as they are. [:D]

I tried it out once since using a 64-bit Java should get rid of the out of memory problems, but it didn't work out.

If michaelm ever comes back he might be able to update the dll file that is used by tracker.
