You can change Optionals by editing the sixth line down in the game file. The trick is knowing which one corresponds to the setting in the file. Zero is Off, and minus 1 is On. I have located the O-chit setting. It is the 22nd from the right. This is of course risky. Some optionals that were off/on to start with could cause the game to crash irretrievably if they are turned on/off.

I was able to turn O-chits on for this game file. I don't think turning this on will break this game. Next problem is to create the missing O-chits and make them accessible. If I manage to do that I'll post the game file back here.

I cannot get beta tools to create the O-chits for this game file because of the phase it is in. I was able to create them in a different game file I had which was in the air rebase phase. I think the feature only seems to work when the game is somewhere in an impulse, not in set-up or end of turn phases.

So if you want to move the game along to somewhere in the middle of one players impulse and then post that save, I'll see if I can add the missing O-chits.

I'm very grateful for your response paulderynck.

Here is a save file at Allied air rebase.

Best laid plans...

I created two O-chits for Germany (they start with one and get one in ND39) and one for Japan and the beta tool says they are in the Reserve Pool but when I do CTRL-Q they are not showing there. I doubt if this is working as I thought it would. You can try the file and see if you can see the ability to use them on your next action choice.

Another possibility is to create the BPs required to build them but then the soonest you'd get them would be one each in ND40 and the second one for Germany in JF41 (due to gearing limits).

Here is the file with the created O-chits. Possibly they will show up in the Reserve Pool as the game progresses through the turn but I doubt it.

I'm so grateful for your efforts Paul. I'll feed back, after passing the file back to my opponent.

Paul, instead of creating offensive chits you can use Debug to directly change the number offensives that a major power has. I tested this in the Air Rebase phase (for a different game) and it seemed to work correctly.

Thanks Steve. I didn't see that button that was right in front of me! Much simpler and appears to work. The O-chits are now showing in the Reserve Pool when I press CTRL-Q.

Professorhex, here is your file...
