Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
I wanted to create vote. But I can't, because the limit on the forum for this.
Do you like to play Vanilla WitP AE or Mods?
1. I play in vanilla. I like everything.
2. I play Mods, I do not like characteristics in vanilla. (Problems with bugs and no desync disregard)
I will be glad to any of your answers. Thank you!

RE: Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
DBB mods only now. The work that JWE and colleagues have done in terms of AA and aircraft and expanded OOB mean that I can't see myself ever going back to stock.
The inclusion of RN monitors alone justifies this decision!

There is no right answer, or even trend except for by experience.
Most new players will start with stock, hopefully a stock scenario.
Most experienced players will dabble with mods.

I only play stock, with the latest 'official' patch. Been that way for a long time. No mods. No betas.

I love DBB for the Mods. All of mine work off of Da Babes as a template.

RE: Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
I'm playing stock now but all of my previous PBEMs were DBB-C and I'll likely return to that if I start a new one.
RE: Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
I have only played DBB (several variants: DBB-lite with reduced cargo capacity and DBB-B without the reduced cargo capacity) and stock. There are several elements of DBB that I like, many actually, but there are others that I just do not like. I like the ship modifications to account for dual-purpose guns correctly. As the Japanese player in PDU:off, I like the group upgrade paths in DBB better and the advanced arrival dates for many important planes in DBB.
I do not much care for the changes to the base forces, because it adds so many more naval support units. The extra flexibility is nice in terms of structuring naval support for the size and purpose of a port, but for the most part, it just makes for more clicking that does not affect much in real terms. I absolutely hate the reduction in aviation support in DBB, especially for Japan, which is always short of aviation support in stock. I understand the idea behind it, but Japan is so short of aviation support in stock that the extra restriction really just amounts to an additional supply and political point burn. The solution to the problem is to create a few size 8 airfields in rear areas for the training squadrons (which doubles the amount of aviation support at the base). This frees up additional restricted aviation support, which can then be bought out and moved forward.
I am indifferent to the changes that DBB makes to refineries. It seems it was mostly just to offset the possibility of fortress Palembang, which no Japanese player, worth his salt, should allow to develop anyway.
In short, I like DBB-lite, but DBB not so much. Stock is fine, DBB is ok, and DBB-lite is probably my favorite mod. DBB-lite includes the best features of DBB without all the extra clicking, supply burn, and other assorted headaches in rear-area logistics that take up time otherwise used to play more turns or focus more on tactics and strategy.
The Beta brings a few very nice changes, but a few irritating changes as well. Both the official patch and the beta are acceptable and equal, in my opinion.

Stock and DBB Lite, with current Beta. Have not tried DBB.
Agree with Aurorus statement " DBB-lite is probably my favorite mod. For me, B-MOD, and if not that, DBB-C for Historical. Awaiting new LST version of his DBB-C mod. For "what-ifs", really enjoy BTS Lite.
Ok..it's official i guess, Mods and not Stock

RE: Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
My preference for DBB-C is not that I like it better or it is more convenient or fun but that I think it is the most historically accurate version available. And I prefer it as the Japanese Imperial player. It does make things somewhat more difficult for the Japanese player, but that player should have thought of that before starting the stupid war in the first place! [:-]
RE: Do you like to play Vanilla or Mods?
DBB-C for me all the way (altough I miss the occasional German-spice like Surface Raiders and subs).
