Thankfully, I think people are taking the warnings more seriously compare to the 90's or before. Perhaps because we can not afford to lose connectivity. Why stay in a flooded home w/o power and wireless? Folks realize they will recover faster from a dry hotel room or with friends/family that have power access to wireless. This is a good outcome from the internet age. It's nearly impossible to get FEMMA help or apply for unemployment or do anything to recover w/o the internet.

Yeah, luckily its calmed down, the islands though didn't get away without damage. HF communication is also being impacted by a solar storm currently hitting the earth.
