Weather for April, May, and June '42

Post by K.J.001 »

I have decided to conduct an experiment to decide when I ought to launch my ’42 Spring Offensive, if any.

Please bear in mind that due to the lack of time, not to mention patience;), I have limited myself to five tests for the period from 5 Apr to 28 June ‘42.

For the first two weeks of April, rain is certain. By contrast, for the last weeks of April, the probability of clear weather is 20%. For the first three weeks of May, the probability of clear weather is 53.3%. At the same time, for the final two weeks of May, the probability of clear weather increases to 80%. However, for the first two weeks of June, the probability of clear weather is only 50%. At the same time, for the final two weeks of June, also the first two weeks of summer, good weather is certain.

In conclusion, the weather for the spring months of April, May, and the first half of June is erratic. So, the Axis (and Soviet) player must be prepared for rain that halts all ground operations if he wishes to launch his Spring Offensive at all. Hence, if the Axis (or Soviet) player wishes to be certain of good weather, it may be best for him to wait until the second last week of June to commence his Summer Offensive instead.
