RE: A modest proposal
Hey, thanks Bombur and no sweat and no worries. I think an increase in fuel during combat is realistic. Maybe a slight turn down on expenditures during non combat movement to balance it out. Smart girl to know he difference. Can you just decrease the raw expenditure for bombardment. In my example, one bombardment used enough raw to build a carrier and a half... Empire has nice production of raw going, and one bombardment sucks a near whole month of production... but either way no worries. Focus on 1938 mark 3!!!

Wait you mean 1930 mod was uploaded?!

RE: A modest proposal
Sorry, I meant Bombur mod 1930, not GD1938. I fixed the fuel issue. Now every vehicle (except trains) uses oil as fuel.

RE: A modest proposal
Hey, sorry to be stupid... I downloaded the update and deleted prior updates... should I see a change from none to oil in this game or will this only take effect in future games? Thanks.
RE: A modest proposal
The fixes will work only for games created with this version of the file. You cannot change parameters when the game is running.

Just to keep us all up to date are we proceeding with this game?
Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Finished Empire and saved. Started my E.Empire turn and 3 hours in needed to stop, put my computer on hibernate and when I came back the game had flashing chits that wouldn't allow access. This is a new issue for me for some reason--never a problem in the past like it. It started with this turn and now has spread to other games. Weird. Yest. was game day and busy work day for me, so I couldn't replay it. Turns take me a long time, sorry-- can't beat my OCD. I'll get it done today. This turn has been a turn from hell.... never 'seen nothing' like it. It will be finished today or I chuck my body on a fiery pyre!!!

The Union carrier forces struck at the Eastern Empire again. Aircraft are beginning to show their potential in warfare.
We are preparing for the onslaught of German forces.

The US expects the Germans to continue their peaceful watch over their borders. On our part we do not intend to disturb them, and we have plenty on our hands without active combat with Germany.
In the northwest our carriers continue to harass the Soviets. Our pilots find the Red Stars make excellent targets.

The Eastern Empire has put out a big budget documentary detailing the last stand of Japanese forces against Russian Tanks:

The Union has engaged units of Das Reich, and bombed some Eastern Empire troops. There is no sugarcoating it, the world has two three nation factions, and it is war, bloody war between them.
We expect a war of attrition, much like the Great War. Our allies are strong nations and dedicated to victory.

The forces of the two alliances are jockeying for position. The Union suspects no one wants to see a Great War style bloodbath. The situation in the east is still fluid.

A problem with Naval Patrol Planes versus Submarines, the planes in combat result are expensive to produce French Brequet 521 with anti submarine stats of 120/120 the targets are Odin Class British Submarines with a 4/4 combat stat versus Tactical Bombers that is the class of the Brequet 521 as yet I have not scored one single hit on a submarine but have lost as you can see large numbers of expensive Naval Patrol Planes. I note in GD1938 Naval Patrol Planes of 1930's have attack stats of 400/400 against submarines and submarines have attack stats of 0/0 against Tactical Bombers to be noted is that the submarine has hit points of 900 the Naval Patrol planes 80 Hit points. From what I know of the prewar period a naval gun was the only deck armament of a submarine some more advanced designs during the 2nd World War added fittings for 20mm AA guns these had to manually hauled onto the outside of the Sub and were used for extended periods on the surface but prewar no such provision was made. So the submarine should have no defence if attacked from the air. Also to be noted is that the submarines are completely undamaged.

Yes deadly but I am going with a Browning side arm just to preserve some dignity for the French Air force. On a side note its spoiling the naval game as subs can now move with impunity up and down the French coastline.
