I'm always interested [;)] Not in the details, just general info. What is he doing that surprises you, your couter moves etc. Upgrades most of us know about.
Right now I'm in a "just plug the leak" mode. Not a whole lot of strategizing , just waiting for Geoff to do something dumb , then hit him if I can. He's been very predictable , so when he keeps doing the same thing (like fighter sweeps over PM at 15k every day) I try to set up an ambush. I had 3 FGs with the best pilots in the USAAF waiting for him 10K above , and a squadron of so-so fighters at the same flight level as him for bait. His 20 Zero's hit the bait P-40E's , and appear to have taken the bait without getting badly worked over by 69 P-40E's that bounced him. THAT was disappointing to say the least!
And because he left a bunch of Brit forces in his rear when he was trying to take Singapore, I used those forces 1st to cut off his supply lines , then to constantly hit him in the rear. FINALLY (nearly a month later) he whipped those units out , but during the whole time he abandoned his siege of Singapore , allowing me to pull in more surviving troops , more supplies , and to work on fortifications for a month. I did exactly the same thing in Manila , so Bataan is in great shape. I've been stockpiling supplies , building forts and gathering retreating troops. Without taking Bataan , Manila is pretty much useless.
Geoff reminds me of a very large Oscar fish we had in the pet store I worked in collage at. It was in a 300 gallon tank so the Oscar was pretty big. And when we went to feed it (goldfish) the Oscar would keep stuffing fish in his mouth. But no matter how full his face was , he wanted more. So whenever he chased a new fish, he'd lose 2 or 3 of the ones already in his mouth. Well Geoff is sending forces into every single fly speck base and island. Then he moves to the next. 1) he only needs to grab the important ones , then the unoccupied in between islands will auto-fill. Nope , he sends troops into everyone. Then he leaves with no garrison force. In a month or two my raiding parties will make his life a living hell.
I'll be interested to see his response.
He's also keeping a "picket line" of subs just west of Hawaii. I have absolutely no trouble avoiding them. In a day or so the bulk of my USN DD forces will go into overhaul , changing their ASW rating of 2 to 6. Then it will be time to start killing his subs (or at least damaged them). He's currently doing that to my subs in the DEI. But while they have accumulated a lot of damage , they've gained tremendous experience. Now it's time to bring them back to PH and the west coast and upgrade them (as well as fix their damages) . Again , in a month or so of game play he'll begin to see a difference.
In a little over a month I'll have Hornet , Lexington will be repaired , all CV will have their TB squadrons replaced by USMC wildcats and dive bombers and I may even send the Brit CV's to assist (after adding USMC Wildcats). Numerically it will be equal to the KB if not in quality. With heavy LBA and MPA support I should be able to bloody his nose of he comes "on my yard" with anything less than the full KB. Obviously I'll avoid going head to head with the KB or better for now.
But that's really all to report for now. Sorry guys, I'm boring. [:D]
