As an enemy I think Dutch Guyana if possible. If not, wait for instructions.

Houston, we have a problem.

Construction engineers are on and combat engineers are off in optional rules.

I tested fixing game file, optional rules are almost on top of that file (-1,-1,-1,0,-1 etc)

It looks like this in game 4

The first 0 is combat engineers. I can put it on, but we need to find construction engineers to disable it. I think we can continue if this works (as long as we don't take red factory in Lodz before fixing it). At least we can try. I don't want to play with construction engineers.

Edit: If we can't disable it, should we start a new game or manually fix every red factory and major port?

Sorry chaps, I think that was my fault.

However, starting from Mayhemizer's lead, I compared the OptRules code lines from Game 3 and Game 4 and found the the other value that was different. Changing that from -1 to 0 activated combat engineers. Changing the one Mayhemizer identified to -1 deactivated construction engineers.

I've sent the revised file over.

My guess is that the construction Engineers is the first 1 after the 0 for combat engineers. Why not try and change both those?

I was thinking it was a possibility for future errors if there is a unrepaired port without the optional rule on.

I'm not sure where to look in the file for Danzig. Nothing came up when I tried a search for Danzig. I suspect I might need to look under the code for the hex reference. I'll need to check Ronnie's guide for that.

Fixed it (I hope).

Searching on the hex location in y,x format (as per Ronnie's guide for factories and resources), produced 1 difference between Games 3 and 4.

In Game 4, this block of code near the start.

In Game 3

Deleting the row: 9,44,47,0,0,|0| and changing the top number to 5 removed the damaged marker from the port. I should add that not changing the top number to 5 and leaving it at 6 crashed the game on loading. One proceeds with peril when playing about with these variables.

The remainder appear to be the German and Italian fort units.

Anyway, new file on its way.
