No declarations of war or alignments. However The Fuhrer brings his great wisdom to the diplomatic table and in signing the Second Vienna Award, large tracts of Romania are handed to Hungary and Bulgaria.
Naval Air: None
The makings of a hit single 40-odd years later.....
Aide de Camp: How do you feel that, in signing this award, you are emasculating Romania?

Impulse: 5 (Axis)
Naval Movement:
Germany
Admiral Wilhelm Marschall, aboard his flagship Gneisenau, sails for the Baltic with the 'pocket-battleships' Deutschland and Graf Spee. The French do not intercept - it is obvious that they are to remain in the Baltic.
The German squadron attempts to find French ship(s) reported to have sailed to the Baltic previously. Marshall puts Graf Spee in the van, but the French unit(s) prove illusive (throws of 9 (Axis) and 6 (Allies)).

Impulse: 5 (Axis)
Strategic Bombing: None
Ground Strike: None
Rail Movement:
Japan
A Korean Territorial unit is railed to Suchow in central China.
Germany
The Germans rail an ART unit from Poland to the West Wall.
Land Moves:
Japan
The Shanghai Warlord is reminded of his responsibilities for keeping Shanghai and environs in check. His men are ordered to Nanking. with the warlord securing their northern flank, the Japanese forces around Hangchow set off west towards Nanchang.
In the south a small force is ordered to advance along the coast to try and ward off any Chinese interest in Hainan.
In the north of the country the rather unfortunate disorganisation of Umezu's forces means a change in plan, and General Terauchi is ordered south with his cavalry and motorised units to try and get operations along the Yellow River moving again.
Over to AllenK for German movement (I will let you have the remaining Japanese orders this evening).

Impulse: 7 (Axis)
No declarations of war and no alignments
Land: Japan
Combined: Germany, Italy
Naval Air: None
Naval Movement:
Germany
Donitz orders a newly formed Wolfpack "Hartmann" to sea. The Type II 'Ducks' that form the pack are supposedly ideally suited to action in the North Sea...
The German navy tries initiating combat in both the Baltic and the North Sea. Deutschland takes over from the unsuccessful Graf Spee in the van of the German fleet - Captain Wenneker proves more adept than Captain Langsdorff and Deutschland's look-outs spot a French cruiser in the distance (throws of Axis 2: Allies 6)
How do the Germans wish to spend their surprise points?
