Germany declares war on Netherlands. I almost DoW on Denmark too, but I guess there no rush? I can take Copenhagen, but not Frederikshavn this impulse. CW could sen MOT from France and ART to Frederikshavn.

Naval air
Do17 to North Sea box 2

Naval move
BB Gneisenau, BB Scharnhorst and CA Graft Spee to North Sea box 2 (BB Gneisenau loaded with INF div).

(Extra ships for AA fire and shore bombardment)

If CW initiates combat, send NAV there too.

Ground strike Warsaw using artillery.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

Interesting. We need to talk strategy. I will be back in a couple of hours.

I am thinking that, perhaps, we should let Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe handle the Dutch. Letting the Kriegsmarine sitting this one out and remaining in the port.

I don't want CW to enter Rotterdam, that will happen if Germany takes land action.

The Netherlands setup is very risky. Although it has a high reward as well.

I propose that we take the bait and hope that the German air disorganize the Dutch defender so that we can take both Rotterdam and Amsterdam without invasion. However, if the ground strikes fail then we can not reach either.

You mean ground strike and overrun?

OK, let's do that so that Germany can do things in Poland too.

Not if the ground strike succeeds. And the Stuka is likely to do so. And we can add the other bomber and the fighter then we should be extremely unlucky to not disorganize the Dutch defender. Once it is disorganized it is easy to put OOS and then a panzer can overrun it. Then we march into both Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

We better ground strike that INF with everything we have (Do17, Stuka and Bf109) except NAV.

You can do ground strikes if you want (bomb Warsaw too). Land all planes to where they are now (Do17 will protect Baltic Sea later).

I do land moves because almost all units are moving.

Quite soon I need to take Denmark so that I can send CPs to Baltic Sea.

I was thinking that maybe Germany should send out the naval bomber to the North Sea 2-box. So that Germany has the option of initiating combat there during their impulse. But that uses up the last German air move.

There is nothing else to do, except maybe port strike Rotterdam. In naval combat Germany might lose planes. In port strike there is no risk. We could target all losses to CPs.

If our ground strike succeeds then the ships in Rotterdam will be overrun. So there is a chance that those CPs will be destroyed anyway. I think it is better to take risks and fight the CW forces.

You decide if you feel lucky, or not. Or the naval bomber can be saved to try and assist in the Baltic Sea.

If we send NAV to North Sea all it can do is sink ships aborting from Rotterdam. CW will start naval combat in North Sea and there is no targets for NAV. So maybe the best idea is fly NAV to Baltic Sea box 2 and try to find French ships. Turn ends soon, so we should do something with that NAV. Send it to Baltic Sea and roll well [:)]

Small problem with our Baltic sea plan. Germany can not initiate sea combat.

Problems, problems. I don't want to hear about problems, I want to hear solutions [;)]

The hour is late and winter is coming. So the decision is to sink CPs in Rotterdam using port strike. NAV lands one hex NE of Kiel (it can fly to box 3 to both sea areas and intercept to box 2).

I have to quit from today and get to bed. We can continue tomorrow planning or you can start impulse if we are good to go.

Remember to ground strike Lodz (not Warsaw as said before), I would like to see it fall this turn.

I think Germany goes for port strike landing NAV to NE of Kiel. Lets see if there are enough impulses to send CPs to Baltic Sea this impulse.

I've been sitting here for 30, maybe 45, minutes thinking that I should do that port strike. But I've been delaying it for no reason at all. I've been feeling to old and grumpy. Or sulking. Anyway. Seeing your post brought me out of it. Or at least the worst of it.

The German nav is the ,last bomb factor that Germany has available. Maybe it should be saved for a later impulse? Either for escorting the convoy, if there is one, in the Baltic sea. Or it could be used to port strike the Danish fleet.

Sorry for the delay. I had to run a errand for my parents. I am launching the port strike in a couple of minutes. Just going to get me some tea first.
