I found a small group of Allied ships just west of Davao and launched a strike that did really well. I need more
strikes like that.

And the above strike was followed by this port attack in daylight at low altitude and they sank several little
boys. Great. I guess everybody else has already left port. That's significant.

EDIT: It's obvious that I didn't bring enough escorts to this engagement.

And then there were two separate strikes on Allied shipping NW of Jolo about 10 Kms from the port. Almost there.
And then not.

And then a Nell squadron put the moves on the Marines at Wake and the results were mixed to say the least.
I'm thinking I went in too high so that the hits on the Marines were mitigated somewhat. I'm thinking lower
would be better.

I did a little light mopping up near Suchow in China SW of Shanghi somewhere or other. Wiped out an Allied unit.

I tried to overpower the Kuching ground garrison but I didn't bring quite enough people to do that. I'm flying in
some paratroopers from Miri to help out. The rest of the Miri contingent is moving east to Brunei to finish off
the Allied garrison there.

Here's the attack that captured Miri. And the facilities are largely intact. I'm of course going to repair
everything and get everything up and working. I've already set the engineers to expand the airfield real quick.
I intend to fly in a lot of CAP and maybe some bombers to hit Singapore. Or Singkawang. Or Zamboanga.

Meanwhile my boys at San Fernando said they did everything they could to negotiate a settlement about the base
there but the negotiations turned into a shouting match and then the shooting broke out and before you knew
what was happening they had a war on their hands. I'll send 'em an email with my thanks for trying.

A really similar thing happened at T-town, still in the PI with this story. My guys said that they sent a guy
carrying a white flag to the enemy lines so they could set up some negotiations about T-town and my guys say
they shot at the flag-carryer. So they started shooting in self defense and of course they had to attack to
save their flag carrier and the Allied prisoners said they heard the Japs shoot first. Somebody in the rear of
the Jap lines had shot the guy carrying the white flag just to get the fight started was the story. So it's
still up in the air what actually happened.

And then I got a report from CRB that one of their TF's to Da Nang had a sub surface near them, pop off a couple
or three shots and submerged again. Neither Jap ship had their $hit together enough to shoot back.

In what must have been an all-day-long ordeal, Jap sub I-1 was stalked
by an Allied ASW TF and managed to evade two separate contacts, which
is a good thing because it's got enough minor/major damage to suggest it
head back to port. So I've assigned it to patrol it's way back to
Kwajalien and get fixed up. I'm hoping he's going to be able to use his
Glen to spot stuff along the way. If any.

EDIT: Yeah, I just now noticed myself: no Glen aboard. D'oh.

Here's a lucky transport: it got attacked by two separate Allied subs and escaped unscathed.

I left one of my SCTF still too long and an Allied sub got lucky with two TT's. The CA has severe floatation
damage so I'm escorting it to Miri, that being the closest port, at least it's a level 3 port this time. I'm
hoping to get enough CAP to Miri that the CA won't get bombed. Or the oil facilities for that matter.

The Shoyu Maru got ambushed by an Allied sub not far from Nagasaki and caught some shells but set the sub on fire.
There was a fire that broke out on the Shoyu and it's making it's way to Nagasaki and I've ordered mission speed
just to get out of the hex where the submarine is faster.

Oh, and by the way, here's all the ships that sank during the recent combat phase. Yesterday. Only a single Jap
ship and it was a midget sub. Abandoned it says. I think he just got hungry and thirsty and needed some sleep
badly. He's been out there since the Pearl strike.

The air losses for today for both sides tells the awful trooth that I'm losing way way too many Zeros for this
early in the game. I may have to shut off the air strikes for a while. Move the bombers to the Singapore
campaign and leave the Manila PI area to sweeps in an air war.

I have it on good authority that the mini-sub operator swam to the big
island and turned himself in. He's now enscounced in the POW facility
which is the YMCA for right now. He's busy playing basketball.

Georgetown still has a small CAP and I sent some Oscars to sweep the airfield and it went rather well. A few move times
like that and they will be gone.
