Upon realising that she had three German ships bearing down on her, the French cruiser Duguay Trouin tried to outrun her pursuers. Any hope that she could do this were quickly eliminated when the 11-inch guns of Deutschland found their target after just two salvos. Duguay Trouin took a shell that smashed into her boiler room and exploded, reducing her speed to a crawl. It was left to Graf Spee to deliver the coup de grace...

The French cruiser did not go down without a fight though and managed to cause sufficient damage to Graf Spee that she needed to put into port for some repair work. Where does Graf Spee abort to?

Donitz orders a newly formed Wolfpack "Hartmann" to sea. The Type VII U-boats that form the pack are supposedly ideally suited to action in the North Atlantic and Donitz has high expectations of his U-boats....

Whilst waiting for an answer on Graf Spee, Hartmann's U-boats - U-45, U-46, U-47, U-48 and U-52 - scour the North Atlantic horizon for sign of enemy merchant vessels. Lt-Cdr Prien in U-47 and Lt-Cdr Schultze in U-48 are in luck.....

I assume you want the 0-box only - with one excort?

It's early days in the war and the need for proper convoys is in evidence. Over the space of 36 hours Prien accounts for 3 ships totalling 12,000 tons, while Schultze sinks 4 for 15,000 tons. Lt-Cdr Sohler, racing to the scene in U-46 bags another 2 larger merchants for 16,000 tons.

Both sides remain in the area - well the British have no choice, they need imports for the survival of the country, and these need to come via the sea lanes. However the Germans U-boats find no further ships (throws of 9 Axis: 6 Allies).

Two merchant ships were holed but the crews kept their charge's afloat and these limped back to Liverpool.

Looks like people of Burma are not that happy to join to fight against Axis. Or they had enough of CW. Anyway, partisan appears to Burma.

Germany can place it, is oil resource hex good, or is there a better place somewhere?
