RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2
Okay it works in windows mode, no problem!
My issue is my resolution is (4K) 3840 X 2160 The window is very small at this resolution. Is there any way to adjust the window size to make it larger like in War in the Pacific using a shortcut?

RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2
only option i can find to add to a shortcut is to make it windowed which helps you little like i mentioned before, the size your running atm was never around at the time of the game, so to support it fully other than in using windows mode is kind of hard without a rewrite which i'd guess 99% sure won't be happening either.
i'll ask around the developers of this as still testing for them on other games, and see if anything was ever added or amended or altered to suit a display, but tbh only think for now is this, run as full screen and exit from the game and then alter the shortcut to this, and lets see if that gets rid of the black line and also displays better, it's only a guess as unless i have the hardware the same, it's hard to see which or what settings to chose and use and which not to, so it's guess work and kind of firing in the dark stuff, as what works on one game may or may not work on another i'm sorry to say, so one post won't sort all[:(]
windows scaling is as much of an error with window 10 as it is with hardware, as one may work with another one not doing, for some software is better than others, with even some drivers being supported better than others, so it's a dice shake at times to support
tm.asp?m=4330567
same problems with other games here as well so your not alone either, overall numbers are still very low atm

RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2

RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2
oh bum, i forgot to even add one, my bad

first one is running the game is compatibility mode, so windows 10 thinks it more like Vista, eg longer time to think, long time for cpu and memory related tasks to complete, so less hangs etc, as windows 10 expects some tasks to complete quicker so sometimes hangs a game when it's not needed.
reduced color is an old one to support games which don't use a 4k pallet etc, or the full range on what a more later game would etc.
over ride high DPI, there's a few settings in here, each one does a different thing, so again it's a crap shoot on knowing which one works better with a given app / game or program, it's makes higher DPI use be less of an issue and almost alters the scaling to be less aggressive and more user friendly to put it another way.
windows 10 uses some background settings to alter fonts and icons that can cause errors on older games, disabling these makes it more compatible in some game, kind of like turning off the user overlay in steam, as that's also a adding tool that doesn't always work well with older games.
running as admin, just gives a higher permission value to the game or program selected.

that's 8 settings with 5 shown, making a large combo of options to try to suit a given game or hardware, so it's not as simple as this one will work for you either to try, it could be anyone of them in any combination i'm sorry to say, one may work on one user and the next comes along and says on the same sort of hardware and game it doesn't work for them, so another combo is needed [:(][&:]

RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2
so a part improvement, if i had the hardware in front of me i'd just sit and go through each and every combo of settings until one worked better, as atm it's one step forward at a time, and maybe one step back if one goes wrong, so makes sure you make notes on which ones help and which don't etc
how much of the boarder less? a good % or just a small part etc
you may never get a full 100% screen with your settings as they are high end and also a higher than normal DPI, so may not scale much better, could you use it now with how it is?

RE: windows 10 compatibility testing part 2
next one to try and i'll leave you to it is back to windowed again with the same settings used, so load game and alter settings to widows mode and exit, leave shortcut and game alteration how it is, then restart game and see if the display screen size in windowed mode is larger or smaller than what you had in full sized etc, as it may or may not be larger but worth a try all the same, now i must get back to testing so i leave you with it, good luck, and off in a few days so won't be here for a week or so

atm nothing altered on the shortcut either, so a fresh clean start with nothing what so ever altered in it, just to see what it looks like and how windows 10 reacts etc

5, straight away, you can't alt tab in and out of the game as normal, as again it makes the game screen go green

so altered in game options only atm so to show clouds and also use windows mode, then at least i can screenshot without restarting the game every frame

6, windows mode isn't as i'd hoped either, so a solution to screenshots causes other problems in windows 10, so changed it back to full screen and will now alter the shortcut instead and try that approach
