Computer lockups

New subscriber but old wargamer here. I bet this has been on the forum 1000 times but help me out. When completing a generated campaign (such as British vs Germans) battle, if I save at the end of the battle but do not complete at a minimum the order of battle for the next battle, my computer locks up and I cannot get back into the file to complete the unit purchase for the next battle. Any solutions?
