Which is why I'd sail around to the north and drop some troops at Padang to march on Benkoelen, while dropping more troops at Palembang. If you finish off the rest of Sumatra, he can't do anything about the troops at Singapore and you'll starve them out. Trickle your guys across the causeway so as not to cause shock attacks.

Bomb the LI at Singapore if you can.

He is dangerously committed here.

It is just chaos here...

First night bombing hit of the war...

And, now back to your regularly scheduled naval combat at Palembang...no hits by either side.

Once more, again...I wish they would blunder into a type 88 mine.

Another fight...I hope Palembang's runways and planes don't take too much damage...there is a lot of targets for a shore bombardment...50 ships, and 160 planes, and twenty units.

And she is down...her last torpedo spread misses the Portland, but she does hit her twice knocking out a gun mount.

The bombardments, by two groups of two cruisers are pretty devastating on the fighters at Palembang, and hit the damaged light cruiser...

then three cargo ships blunder into the Allied fleet afterwards with predictable results, another two destroyer skirmishes, an Iboat nails a destroyer (American I think...fog of war makes it spotty), and then here is another daytime fight.

They were all hit at 19k to 16k yards, MTB 10 did plow into a mine at Palembang, and I bet they were out of fuel although I didn't get any messages suggesting that.

Argh, he finds them, but with no dl, I guess they get lucky.

Not as much escorts fly as planned, but 7 Nells get thru, amazed they flew into the cap...and deliver some justice.

10 Nells lost putting a fish into a battleship for probably not that much damage.

Could have been worse at Palembang, and at Pontianak.
