Before debugging the scen, maybe they are extending because they cannot turn "into" the waypoint within that turn radius?

What happens when they get sufficiently distant from the waypoint?

They roam for a while then come back on the path.

The strange thing is that they don't turn toward the next waypoint but go to the opposite direction.
