Scuttlebutt has been that Osan will see their Viper squadrons replaced by F-35s in some of the first deployments.

This is over a year old but I believe they are building to receive a couple Sqns in Alaska already. Not too far away.

Although the Block 40's at Osan are getting old (1990-91 vintage) so that is possible - it may be a bit too close to the fire when there are other options close by.

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) has published an article that looks at the prospects for submarines in the 21st Century. It suggests that submarines "might be obsolete by the middle of the century."

The hypoxia issue isn't isolated to the F-35. Several Air Force and Navy aircraft have had this issue. I saw articles on F-22s, F/A-18s, navy training aircraft, etc. It appears to me to be a systemic issue with the oxygen generators across the spectrum with the issue more or less in some aircraft.

As to reliability a couple points...

Every new airframe has the spares issue on ramp up. Suppliers have to balance spares and new airframes. If they are falling behind on supplying components for new build, they will short spares. The F-22 and the F-15 had similar issues.

Not just badgers, the stepping stones efforts for missiles' target identification test is also important to submarines as well. If China is fulfilling the US Defense's expectation by missiling Guam and Hawaii in offset range, it will be the submarine's first job rather than bombers.

(Sorry for being inactive these days, it's difficult to cite some PLA-related news because I am no longer to use Chinese source or website anymore. I will only abide with western official reports from this day forward)
