Set up Hill 621, static or possible?

Post by juv95hrn »

Hello.

I´m trying to set up and run the scenario Hill 621 (since I have lots of great memories of this from ASL).

My question is if its possible to reassign starting German units on the map before the scenario starts? Or if they are stuck in their starting hexes where they are positioned at start.

I have seen a YouTube video where they seem to be moved around. If this is the case, how do I change their initial starting location? (Yes, this should be pretty basic, but apparantly it isn´t).

Is the APC (SPW) permanently immmobilized and cant tow the AT gun in the same hex? If not, how do you hook up a gun on a towing vehicle? The option isnt there.

Thank you!

If a user can place units on the map or not is determined by the scenario design. A scenario that come with units already placed on the map cannot be moved by the player, these units are fixed/static. Please see the manual, Section 7 - Scenario Design for details.

For a scenario, once an AFV gets immobilized that's it - it can't be repaired.

For a CG, an AFV immobilization is fixed before a new CG day begins.

In ToTH, Ordnance cannot be towed.

I just looked at Hill 621, and player setup is allowed.

You can place any German units that are not yet placed on the map at start in all the hexes with a light blue edge and a number (the setup zone) at the top matching the Zone number listed for that unit in the Unit List Window (bottom mid-right). German units available at start should be placed on the hexes marked "1". Other hexes are reserved for units entering as reinforcements. I do not currently remember if the ATG can be freely placed.

Thanks.

I think its correct that you cant move units already placed on the map at start. In any case you wouldnt want your infantry coming in from the map edge. The Zone 1 reinforcements are the 4x PzIV that arrives on turn 1.

I think the SPW starts immobilized and therefore never can be moved, unlike the vehicles that enter on later turns.

I suppose ordonance (the AT guns) can´t be towed in toth, unlike ASL?

Perhaps I do not remember correctly, but I am almost certain you have some freedom to set up the German infantry units at start (unless there are two versions of "Hill 621" among the scenarios).
