n00b Q - Counter symbology

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

n00b Q - Counter symbology

Post by mats0916@rogers.com »

Hiya folks

New to this game and I am enjoying learning it. I have previsouly played different warsims including Decision in the Desert (my first), all of the Harpoon series, Command, etc.

I am fairly certain I have figured out most of the symbology on the unit counters but one thing that I haven't figured out is the symbol in the upper right corner. I has the same shape as the soft factor symbol in the upper left but white/black shades. What do these denote?

I have tried to google it and search for it here on the forum to no avail, so I apologize if this have been answered ad naseum...

Cheers,
Mats

See 5.2.3. Unit Bar in the manual.
Unit Graphic: Displays CV-MP mode with currently selected soft factor and movement status.
 Movement status is in the small triangle located in the right corner of the unit counter. If a unit has not moved, then it will be a white triangle with a smaller black triangle inside. If the unit has moved and still has movement points remaining, there will just be a white triangle. If the unit has expended all of its movement points, there will be nothing in the right corner.

You're welcome. Be aware that many user interface mods alter this feature.
