Map

Post by Sabre21 »

Is there an issue with having the game crash once in a while when scrolling around the map?

Both Bill and I reloaded the game and patches up to 2.5.5 yesterday and managed to start a new Global war game on netplay.

Three times now in the last couple hours the game crashed when one or the other of us was scrolling around the map. One occasion occurred when I was placing the French units on the initial game setup and Bill was looking at the Global map and scrolled across it when the crash occurred.

Another time it happened when I was scrolling from Indochina across to Europe, a crash occurred on the normal scale 3 map as it was crossing western India into the Persian Gulf area.

It seems to occur randomly, but as I recall when we were playing with 2.5.5 prior to us reloading the entire game, it never once crashed when scrolling on the map.

In one of the other threads Steve gave out some (new?) map files to fix that (probably yours are an older version).

p.s.: what changed about the map files?

Go here you need to replace some map files that did not update correctly.

I added some data for the AIO: another ~100 hexes in the Middle East are now assigned to a Land Region. LR's will be used by the AIO when assessing a position and deciding where to the allocate units (Operational decisions).
