Here's some of the numbers for aircraft engines and airframes. I've turned off some of the production of the
Ha-5/1000 and I've still got too many. I need to turn off some more yet I guess.
Good news: Michael has volunteered to play the Jap part with me watching over his shoulder OR as the Allies and tutor me on what to do next, etc.
So in the long run we'll have a better game, a better gamer, and it's a win-win. Stay tuned for news.
EDIT: So the short version is that I'm sending my work-in-progress file to Michael so he can take a look around and
judge what I've done and make suggestions which I will make in my copy of the file just before I send the moves file
to Brian. I learn how to play better, Brian gets a good game, Michael get's paid 100,000.00 a year in virtual money
and so it's a win win.
I received a question from Michael a minute ago and he wanted me to pick out my three next objectives, etc. Here's
what I said:
Hey Michael:
[goal] (1) The area,
(2) why this area, and
(3) what issues are you having for three areas in order of importance.
[/goal]
First of all I want to secure Manila, Singapore, and Palembang for the reasons
listed as the following: I need Manila for the strategic importance it is
as an unsinkable carrier dominating China's southern coast. The Allies will
probably not make much of a contest in Chinese waters while I have LBA at
Manila. The island is a good place to put an airfield and port. I need it.
And as for Singapore it's got to be denied to the Allies as it's got a good
port and a good airfield and it's got goodies ( RES,etc. ) And As for
Palembang: I want it's oil. I've got Miri, Brunei, Trakan, and Balikpapan
but that's not enough yet. I want more. The issues I'm having is getting the
supply to flow from the east coast of Malaya to the interior parts of the peninsula.
Low supply, that's the hangup. I've tried cranking up the supplies required and
even turning stockpilling on and it's a slow process I guess.
Second, I want to subdue Sumatra and Java for their goodies and to put a
southern border on my territory in case of invasion attempts from Ceylon
or Australia. The ports and airfields are a bonus after the goodies I'm
after. I found a lot of peple in China and Mongolia and moved 'em to Fusan
and I've already shipped out about 2/3 of them. I'm buying out three or four
at a time, as many as I can get to load on a ship docked at the pier. I'm
swimming in PP's so that's not a throttle. Issues I'm having: There's a
finite number of people to move and I'm running low on available people.
I'll have to start using the same people again and again I guess. The
battles for Manila and Singapore are going to last longer than I can find
people to move so I'll need to scour the countryside again looking for
available bodies.
Third, I want to expand from Rabaul to the SE and establish some bases as
far south as maybe Fiji to try to isolate the continent of OZ from Pearl
and the West Coast. Bunin, Effate, Guadalcanal, etc. I haven't planned this
part of the plan out very much yet. I can't find the people for the project yet.
Issues I'm having: I need to do a lot of the bases at the same time in this
AO for the self-supporting network they would make for each other in terms
of overlap in the CAP umbrella's and maybe just one SCTF could guard all
of them equally as well.
I'm thinking this is about it for now.
friends,

New Moves from Brian: I'm watching the combat replay and one of the first things to come up is this airstrike on
the Allied ships at Hong Kong and I got a few good hits.
Okie dokie, I'm through watching the combat replay, it was a rerun of last turn. And now I'm perusing the Tracker
data. Here's my new alerts. Those sunk Enemy ships were due to three airstrikes on the Allied TF near Hong Kong.
They appear on one turn and then they are gone the next. I need some naval search assets in that AO right now.
Here's the ship production and you can see that I'm running both Nav and Merch in a tiny deficit mode and I'm
aware of it and I'm watching it. It's good for right now. I like to aim for about 1K points in the Pool for
emergencies.
EDIT: I decided after all to change one of the Merch AK's from accellerated to normal bring the HI cost down.
A little bit.
Here's the production of the Ha-5/1000 so far. There's too many in the pool so I turned down production about 30
last turn and the number in the pool is decreasing slowly. That's a good thing. I'm aiming for about 510 or so.

Strafing from low level? Is Ki-32 Mary a dive-bomber or attack bomber or both? Can you post a screen of her from Tracker?

Day 1 of class was focused on Luzon, Malaya, and prepping for Palembang. Biggest thing is to get Larry to recombine components into full divisions. Hopefully, he is moving those components towards the rest. A few are going to take weeks to find the rest of their division. I think his almost 5M in supply is at too many bases that don't need it. He should be taking them off Stockpiling and the request buttons down to none.
Day 2 will be economics. This will take some turns to complete. My first few attempts to get Tracker to load failed, but I think I have found the problems.
New moves from Brian: Here's the aircraft and engine production so far. I've got the production of the
Ha-5/1000 turned off so that the number in the pool will decrease somewhat.
new moves from Brian: One of Brian's air combat TF's ran over one of my lurking subs and the sub got a luck hit
on the Lexington with a TT. I'm thinking it's going to need some yard time.
As you can see the Auto-Convoy system isn't working as advertized. There'a very few routes being sailed and the
brunt of the routes are going to have to be manual ones.
I got tired of sitting near Port Moresby waiting for my airstrike to begin on
Port Moresby and it never happening. Weather or something. So I took on a
full tank of gas from the AO group and drove over to the coast of OZ and
launched an airstrike that got some good hits. I'm surprised by the amount
of CAP that Brian had. I'm going to have to avoid that place for sure. He's
got P-40's coming out of his ears.
Here I am on the morning of the next day setting the orders for the bombers to neval search so as not to attack
Townsville again and run through the P-40's and and flak, etc. Brian got on the stick and got some fixed-wing
assets there from the West Coast pretty quickly. Good for him.

Hey this was a great attack!
BTW, 10 P 40 downed it's a clear signal of your air superiority, I'd definitely go for it, for the P 40s (meaning: "sweep mission" in game's mechanic) and for the ships, that's great oopportunity, Brad shall have a baaaad headache out of the results......
