A look at Tsitsiahr defenders...when the Soviets activated Obvert allowed Chinese troops to cross into Manchuko. I further refined that by only allowing IJA troops...not Manchuko or Chinese troops to cross borders. I recently pulled 2 armored, 1 division, 1 AA out of China to help counter this attack on Tsitsihar. Perhaps they can go back once the Kotou pocket defenders are out and about.

Turn is finished, and I am sending many small task forces into the lions den, what is obviously a trap, but we will rely upon small multiple task forces, destroyers, and elan to carry the day. Hope for nasty weather and some good torpedo hits.

I suspect a bloody, bloody day.

It has been awhile since I put torpedoes into the remaining Yankee CVs, so I suspect they could easily be at Sydney now...heading to join up with the British Carriers in the all out attack on Palembang.

Can you describe your tactics in a little more detail ? A CL and a couple DD's per small TF ? DD's only ? Or some other configuration ?

You will probably see lots of fights in the upcoming turn...but I broke 1 CA, half dozen CL, a dozen or more destroyers into task forces no larger than 4 and no smaller than 2. Agile destroyers in first, surface threat set to low...launch them long lances and retreat. Last TF in should be the cruiser.

It is a skirmish mode of fighting...designed for night hit and run engagements of short duration. Usually the skippers are solid naval skill, and middling aggression in the under 60 range.

Really want bad weather and low moonlight and close engagements.

The third fight...it seems all the ships above Palembang have left the area...leaving my main thrust missing.

Daylight comes and the third destroyer at Palembang is sunk by the Astoria...a clash a little further north.

I didn't really want to fight during the day...and I simply cannot get a torpedo hit to save the Empire.
