Call out Reserves

Post by TeaLeaf »

Just started a new game 2.7 and during the second impulse (allied first one), after France and the CW DOW Germany, France and Germany both get to set up their reserves, but not the CW (theirs are put in production to arrive next turn, in Nov/Dec).

I thought a MP can set up their reserves during their own impulse (clarified in RAW 8.102)?
So Germany should have to wait till impulse 3 (their 2nd one) and France and the CW should both be allowed to set up during impulse 2.
If RAW 8 is ignored, then I guess all three (so including Germany and the CW) should be allowed to set up ther reserves during impulse 2.

Waiting until your own impulse is RAW8. In MWiF you should be able to set up all the reserves of both sides when the DoW occurs. You do have to select them all first when the screen comes up so that some could remain in reserve if you desire. So then if you did that, then each impulse afterward, you'll get asked.

Is it possible the CW accidentally selected the option of waiting with all of them?

Thanks Paul,

I was indeed asked to set up (and select) the German and French reserves, but not the CW ones. You can check it in the savegame.

Just a very small number of clicks on the 'end phase' button away, the allied DOW-phase starts, in which only Germany and France are asked to set up their reserves. When I tried to set up the CW reserves Manually later during the allied impulse (Info->Pools->Reserves), I saw the CW Reserves waiting in the Nov/Dec reinforcement pool.

Not a big deal because usually the CW reserves will just sit out the entire turn being DG (although you never know...), but I just report most errors I stumble upon in the hope of being helpful in the pursuit of perfection [;)].

It's a new bug. Only the flags of Germany and France are lit for setting up the reserves. The CW isn't there and isn't asked to do so.

It took me a while to figure out what happened here.

If you bring up the Pools form for the Commonwealth (for example, while setting up the Polish units), the Call Out Reserves button on that form is enabled. Clicking on it for the Commonwealth puts all their reserve units in the "arrive next turn" setup pool. Hence, when you get to the Call Out Reserves subphase after the Commonwealth and France have DOW'd Germany, all the Commonwealth reserve units are in the "arrive Nov/Dec 1939" pool.

I'll disable that button unless a major power is at war with another major power.
