Just watched the videos. It might just be me, but wow 'Time management' is hard to understand. I guess I have to play the game to understand it.
RE: Tutorials: Introduction - Combat - Time
Yes, it would be very helpful if you could draw the current cursor positions more clearly and visibile. That helps follow the instructions

+1 on the cursor. The tutorials are very hampered by the fact that, certainly in 2 and 3, the cursor vanishes, so you can't work out what the narrator is talking about. They need re-doing with that bug sorted out.

Yeah, most recording software has option to show the mouse cursor. Obviously they didn’t choose the option. It make the videos very confusing, hopefully they can record them again, but I’ll be very surprised if they do that.

I to am at a lose regarding the You Tube vids without a curser
Very confusing im looking all over the place for it and becouse of that i dont get what im ment to be doing
Im on hold at the mo as im finding it very difficult to get to grips with
Also in th Tutorial tutorial (lol) it says that when you move the curser over certain things it changes shape so that it lets you know about things but mine dosnt
Bit disappointed at the mo i must say

I did some tutorials for TOAW III. I did not redo them for TOAW IV because most everything in them still applies. In other words, the new graphics are not needed for a tutorial, and the main game changes such as Battlefield Time Stamps and Naval Rules have their own separate detailed threads on this forum. Therefore, while Matrix would understandably like new players to watch their new tutorials, you may find that the tutorials on the page below may be helpful, as they were created by a long time player of TOAW.

Note: The people at Matrix are doing the best that they can with a difficult situation. These days we the public don't have the patience to read manuals and learn stuff from one game to the next, and we expect everything to be easy and intuitional.

Alternatively, and when I got the time, I will try to produce some slides (see example below). I prefer slides; not that I got an annoying voice and resent videos, but well... I am old school and still work with flipcharts rather than .PPT for presentations and training/teaching purposes.

The slides are nice. I very much liked the tutorial videos and I'm hoping there will be more. Much of this game I'm still trying to understand.

OK, here they are; in general they still apply (to some extend) to TOAW IV; just disregard the old TOAW III interface.

And here the scenario. NOTE: The folder goes into the graphics override, the .BMP and .SCE into the scenario/tutorial folder.
Have fun peeps and feedback appreciated!

I liked your TOAW III vids... you got a balanced and neutral voice, like an uncle or a narrator... in fact, I'd say you kinda like Liev Schreiber of TOAW III vids
Naturally, as you know, I COULD do vids or audio files with my Brit accent... or with my Arnie impersonation

Very good videos and your comments on player laziness is spot on.
