Viewing Battle Results

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Viewing Battle Results

Hi
I have been limbering up for KP by playing TAO2 and I find that the battle results when I am attacked by the AI flash by too fast for me to see the results. Is there some way to stop this in TAO2 and if not is it fixed in KP?

In TAO2 there is an option: to pause on each battle result.

I expect the same option will be there in KP.

I do fear that a fast computer may not be suitable for top down 2D games.

In KP, you can run the AI turn in several ways, you can tell the AI to run completly through its whole turn, pausing briefly at each battle, or you can tell it to run until the next battle and it will pause at that battle result until you tell it to run to the next one, or you can tell it to run and pause through each unit phase.
Isn't that bizarre?

Pausing for battle results

Post by mcaryf »

Hi

Does the TAO2 pause only work for PBEM - I cannot seem to make it happen versus AI.

By the way I like the odds analysis feature I see reported in KP, that will speed up my slow attempts at looking for weak spots to attack.

I *think* there is a key you can press that makes the combat results pause in TAO2 - its been so longer since I have played it though.. I cant quite remember..

I had the same problem with TAO2. Here's what you need to do... Open the file "Options.txt" in the main TAO2 directory.

Modify the line (Off or On) to -->

(Off or On) Delay = On

Type this in exactly with the caps as shown.

The battle results will stay on the screen until you click the mouse or strike a key.

Have Fun!

Hi Wjt

That is working fine now - I am surprised it was not the default setting but then I guess the final testers/developers were only interested in seeing that things worked rather than the actual battle results.
