problems in WWII Asia scenarios

Post by fulcrum28 »

I'm very excited with this new version of TOAW but I found some problems in the following scenarios:

First, I noticed the Pacific War scenario does not have AI mode. Well, it is fine, but the main problem is that when you load and play it, a message is shown saying you dont have the correct equipment file (playing as Japanese). In fact, if you click on bombers you can see tanks in the unit description...why is that? and how can it be solved?

Second scenario I tried is Pearl Harbor, you click on CV Kaga or CV Shokaku and you see a cruiser or battleship silouhette in the unit description...[:(]

any suggestions? thanks!

Can you tell me exactly which scenario showed you this equipment error?

yes, it is Pacific War 1939-1945. Before given orders a screen is shown saying you dont have the correct equipment file.

In addition, PH scenario does not show error on screen,
but the silouhettes of the ships seem wrong.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Ah! It seems by mistake we included two copies of that scenario. You were trying to open the obsolete one, v3.4

When you select a scenario in the list, its briefing appears on the right. You'll want the one that says 3.63 on the top of the briefing (second in the list)

The silhouettes are "by design" there are no separate unit silhouettes for those naval units if I remember correctly.
They still have a different counter-icon, though.

There is only one ship silhouette in TOAW. The unit icons, however, distinguish ship types, somewhat.

I dont understand this very well. In TOAW if i click on a German division composition, I can see the equipment and each type (PzIII, PzII, Tigers...9 has the correct small graph or silhouette in yellow color. However, in PH scenario, a carrier group CV Kaga shows up a cruiser or BB. I think it should not have been difficult to make them correct for naval forces too. It really kills the immersion.
