New Supply Rules Q

Post by basilstaghare »

I am playing a scenario with a supply radius of 8 and an overextended threshold of 5. I have read and re-read the new supply rules and am still a bit fuzzy. My understanding of these numbers is that you have a base 8 movement points from the supply point (nearest blue and yellow bubble with "X" value?) to reap the benefit of that supply point?

Ie., If that blue and yellow bubble falls below a value of 5 or you are further than 8 movement points away from that number you are overextended???

Most of the values I have right now are between 30-45 on the map in this scenario...I guess v. the threshold of "5", this means Im in good shape???

Thanks.

Also, I know that certain HQ's assist in raising the supply level if stacked with or adjacent to the said unit. In larger scenarios (Ex: Directive 21) what benefit do the higher level HQ's give and do they need to also be adjacent to their subordinate units to yield a benefit? Thanks.

You are only Overextended if the location supply value is below 5, regardless of how far you are from the supply source. The Supply Radius determines how quickly supply attenuates from the supply source.

Yes.

as well as the complete chapter 18.11. supply in the manual.

20.4. KeepInG your unIts
supplIed
There are a few things you can do to maximize the
amount of supplies flowing to your units:
§ Make sure to keep your Lines of Communication
open. Don’t let the bad guys cut in behind you.
§ Don’t move your units unless necessary.
§ Keep your units near a cooperative headquarters
unit.
§ Avoid “boondocks” deployments. Try to
keep your units in urban locations, on Roads,
Anchorage locations, or Airbases.
§ If your opponent has a strong Interdiction
capability (lots of Air units capable of
performing Interdiction Missions), keep
some of your air units on Air Superiority duty.
