PC outrunning game?

Post by FaneFlugt »

Happy to have bought the new edition.

Playing directive 21 (i think thats the name) during the AIs turn the screen goes black and the game lags. Often when there are several interdiction strikes. the PC goes bananas and plays everything at a very high speed and then it goes black but comes back after a few seconds? any idea what is causing this?

Another issue is when I send a fleet, lets say from Gibraltar to England (in another scenario) then the screen goes black and the game lags for a few seconds...

Its not really that big a deal. I am just curious why it does that. never was an issue in TOAW III as far as i recall.

It been an issue in previous versions as well. Happens to me as well and has happened in previous versions, especially when moving units by air, sea or train over long distances on the larger maps (EA,FITE)

Kamerad Wikinger,

What settings, e.g. NoDelay=Y/N? NoUpdate=Y/N; did you have CAPS-LOCK triggered.

When in doubt, dump your Opat.ini here (zipped).

I'll take a look at it. I want to make sure I don's slow things down too much. It's not a 3D game and I'm doing some extra buffering to make sure there's not much tearing or other graphical artifacts.

I get the same lag problem when moving units over long distances. Also get the black out thing if large combats are being resolved. Not a gamebreaker and bearable but is slightly annoying.

Ok, thanks for the heads up [:)]
