Land Interdiction

Post by Dr. Foo »

How does interdiction effect supply? If my Theater Interdiction Level is 5% is the enemy supply disrupted 5%?

From Manual:
Interdiction Effects
Enemy Air units flying Interdiction Missions
impair Supply distribution. This is determined on a
location-by-location basis (Local Interdiction), but
the average value over the entire Theater (Theater
Interdiction) is calculated for your planning use.
The Theater Interdiction Level is not used by the
game.
The Interdiction pane shows both Forces’
Theater Interdiction Levels, a general gauge of each
Force’s efforts to impair enemy supply distribution
and land unit movement.

Easy way to confirm it - play Human vs. Human. AFAIK, it works that way, but even me (after all, I am the Oberst of STALG 13!) can be wrong from time to time.

If you check out these numbers, I think the effect is obvious. If not, we can explain it.

Except that the OPs question is specifically does the Theater interdiction Level directly correlate with a similar disruption of enemy supply. The OP then quotes that "The Theater Interdiction Level is not used by the game".

Your post seems, to me, to imply that there is a direct correlation between the two, which the rules snip specifically declaims.

Hopeful to hear more.

No. The Theater Interdiction Levels for the same turn as above are seen below. As you can see by comparing the two screenshots, the Theater Interdiction Level of 36% does not result in a 36% Supply Disruption. This is because:
The Theater Interdiction Level is not used by the game.
because The Theater Interdiction Level:
is calculated for your planning use.
