There is a working Enigma machine at M.S. Rau antiques in New Orleans. If you are really nice to the staff, they will let you operate the machine. It comes with theee rotors, full plugboard — and everything works!

Or, if you are so inclined, you can buy it for $225,000 and have your own Enigma. Makes a great conversation piece, and you can send and receive messages with a similarly-equipped friend.

Having some experience with a post-WW2 descendant of the ENIGMA machine I can tell you that "the blush quickly comes off the rose" as far as using this thing.

I'm sure it's pretty though...not likely it's $225,000 pretty.
