You can delete the contents of the post but the post frame will still be there. It is good to delete the contents so as not to have replies in both areas.
The issue here is that we get some free assistance from technical people like Bill Olson and Michael M who scan the tech forum when they have time. They do not want to have to search through non-tech posts to find the ones they can help with.
