Polish I Corps Bug

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Polish I Corps Bug

Post by DeriKuk »

DE 405 – USSR: Form I Polish Corps?

Event fires: From the 1st April 1942 when
Kuybyshev is in Allied hands, and General
Anders turned down our offer to evacuate Polish
soldiers from the USSR (see DE 501).

Cost of accepting: 75 MPPs at 25 MPPs a turn
for 3 turns.

Yes: A strength 8 Corps is formed at Kuybyshev,
with zero experience and requiring upgrades.

No: Nothing

This is an opportunistic event. It requires that the USSR player always keeps Kuybyshev empty ... in case this one comes up.

If there is another unit in Kuybyshev, and the "Yes" option is exercised, the MPP cost is still incurred, but the unit never shows up - not on the map (next to Kuybyshev) or anywhere in the New Unit list.

Is this WAD? [&:]

Hi Derikuk

The presence or not of an Allied unit in Kuybyshev shouldn't matter either way, all that matters is that it is in Allied hands, so there must be a different reason why the unit hasn't appeared in your game.

If you go to Options (at the top right of the screen) -> Advanced -> Scripts

Can you see this one in the UNIT scripts in your game?

I've pasted the script below, and if the engine hasn't yet recorded it as having fired then you'll see #NAME= DE 405 - Polish I Corps listed, probably in the first few pages.

It would be good to know either way if you can see it, along with the version you're playing, as it may be similar to a recent bug reported.

Thanks

Bill

Can you see this one in the UNIT scripts in your game?

It was a PBEM++ game that ended in my defeat, so I no longer have access to it. I reported another bug in the After Action folder, along with the Challenge Number. You may be able to retrieve the data from there. (The other bug is a mouse-over pop-up on the PBEM line that shows me as the winner of the game.)

Thanks, I'll take a look at that to see if I can gauge anything from it.

We did have a similar bug reported recently so fingers crossed it had the same cause, i.e. Hubert has now fixed it. [:)]
