Combat Results

Post by Karmic0 »

Would it be possible to make the combat results window smaller, transparent, or popout? I keep having a problem where the map pops to the area of the combat result, but the window obscures the map area so I can't see exactly which hex the action is occurring? Maybe this is an issue with my resolution or something else? no matter where i position the window this will happen for some battles so i find myself moving it all over the screen while trying to read all of the combat reports.

Karmic, good question, I have the same problem, always moving the box, the only other thing to do is to see the results after each battle through the preferences

Holding the space key hides the window.

Wow, talk about a picture is worth a thousand words. That was an elegant response.

Ahaha - thanks so much for that tip, that basically solved the issue for me at least, since you can now easily see where the combat occurred.

Turns out it's actually in the manual, but I thought it was just for hiding the units:
Space < > – Hides units while held down.
Also hides some dialogs.

Transparency is a neat feature for sure, but doesn't really solve the issue as it might still be hard to see through, depending on level. And it affect everything so it also makes things really hard to read if set too high. But settings around 200 look really nice.

@Curtis or others, do you know what the difference between the alpha channel values are? Because I find only the Outer Background setting appear to change the background, the other nothing I've noticed so far.
GroupBackgroundAlpha=180 Dialog Groups Elements Alpha Channel setting
InnerBackgroundAlpha=180 Dialog Around Elements Alpha Channel setting
OuterBackgroundAlpha=180 Dialog Outside Edge Alpha Channel setting
