Assigning weapons etc.?

Post by aaatoysandmore »

How do you assign weapons from one unit to another or pick up weapons laying by themselves?

(Yes, I went ahead and bought it due to the anniversary coupon [:'(])

I notice when game starts several weapons like machine guns are already attached to units but I would like to know how to take one off a pinned or broken unit and put it on one that is still in action.

I couldn't find anything in the manual on this that I looked at online, Some of the pages were missing so the info might have been on those pages.

Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks. [;)]

you can not take the weapon of a broken unit.
you have two solutions:
1- To do kill the unit to be able to recover the abandoned weapon.
2- Try to play better so you do not break your units.[:D]

welcome aboard![&o]

Then again, the heavier SW's like mortars and HMG's are often left behind when units route so there is a chance to recover the SW. It's the lighter SW's like LMG's and PF's that stick with the broken units when they are routing. It would be nice to transfer SW's with units in the same stack but maybe that's for a future update. Transferring support weapons between two friendly personnel units is in the game since UPDATE1. In the Administrative Segment only, select two personnel units and press the "w" key on the keyboard.

Preferably one with a support weapon? [:D]

Thanks for the info though; didn't know about the admin turn being able to do that. Found the one if a weapon is left behind there is a recover button that appears.

Also, game is quite challenging so far; thought it was gonna be a romp but I got stopped in my tracks the 2nd game I played. Got a lot of missed or no effect shots the 2nd game and didn't even get 1 objective hex before scenario over.

Hope they have plans to put a multiplayer element into it as that was the fun of squad leaders was playing your enemies (cough) I mean friends [:D]

The other thing is that having to press the button for every AI move. In a game of tons of units thas not going to be fun at all; a total annoying click fest for the most part.
