Strategic points

I've been systematically fire-bombing Calcutta for a month now, destroying 2/3 of it's industry in the process. By doing that my strategic points count should be way up, right? Wrong. It didn't change for a single point. I wonder is this some kind of a bug and has anyone else noticed this?

It is not a bug.  Read page 264 of the manual.

Japan only gets strategic points for bombing Oz, or the U.S.
